Course Details

In addition to the foundation year, there are three taught years at advanced level. These years cover clinical theory and practice in greater depth and equipped trainees to practice and write at level 7. After this, there is a requirement to write a dissertation and pass an oral exam to qualify as a Psychotherapist.

This programme (together with the first year foundation course) meets the curriculum requirements for UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) registration, on completion of the CTA (Certified Transactional Analyst) Exams.

Each group will contain a mix of students in their second, third and fourth year of training. Successful completion of the requirements for each year earns a certificate of completion of that year.

Successful completion of all 4 years leads to the award of an Iron Mill Diploma in Transactional Analysis Studies. Successful qualification as a CTA leads to the award of an Iron Mill Clinical Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy

The overall integrating principle for the course is the use of Transactional Analysis as a relational psychotherapy.

Accreditation: Our three year part-time Advanced Psychotherapy (Transactional Analysis) programme is accredited by the UK Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA), and leads to UKCP Registration on completion of all requirements for qualification as a TA psychotherapist (Certified Transactional Analyst).

Venue: Exeter

Duration: Three years

Assessment: Assignments, presentation

Award: Certificates of completion for each year of study, and an Iron Mill Diploma on completion of all 4 years.
