Working with Shame

Join us for another CPD workshop from Sue Parker-Hall in Exeter!


A day long CPD training course which focusses on the origins of shame and how to work with the phenomenon relationally.

 

Course Details

This CPD workshop will focus on:
  • Exploring the nature of shame (definitions and symptoms)
  • Differences between guilt and shame
  • Sources of shame
  • Models for thinking about shame
  • Metaphors of shame
  • Understanding our inner critic
  • Creative exercise with relational debrief and processing
  • Articulation of relational models for reflection and processing of shame
  • Shame resistance techniques for the management of shame prior to processing it
Eligibility:

Our CPD workshops are open to anyone who is interested in the subject matter, wants to develop their skills and expand their knowledge. This workshop is particularly aimed at counsellors, psychotherapists and those in helping professions who work therapeutically with others.
