Coaching 101 - Introduction to Coaching


This 2 day (1 weekend) workshop, available in both Exeter and Poole, will be of interest to individuals from a variety of professional and non-professional backgrounds, who wish to explore whether coaching is an option for their future development or for integration into their current role.

  • Allows participants to develop a greater understanding of the coaching approach and its historical development.
  • A range of core coaching skills will be explored and practiced.
  • Gives an appreciation of the emerging areas of application for coaching approaches.






Course Details

Key features:

  • This workshop will offer a structured, interactive and engaging style of delivery. The learning atmosphere will be lively, interactive and supportive with students involved in energetic, engaging conversations and discussions!
  • Students can expect to gain both an introductory theoretical orientation and hands on practice of coaching skills / approaches in pairs and small groups.
  • Participants will have the opportunity to assess their current skill repertoire in terms of strength and gain further confidence and competence in their potential transfer to coaching contexts.
  • The course will help students gain an appreciation of how to schedule and structure coaching interactions.
Eligibility:

Our CPD workshops are open to anyone who is interested in the subject matter, wants to develop their skills and expand their knowledge. This workshop is particularly aimed individuals from a variety of professional and non-professional backgrounds, who wish to explore whether coaching is an option for their future development or for integration into their current role.

Final Application Date

The deadline for applications is 2 weeks before the start of the course. A decision will be made on whether the course will run, based on confirmed and accepted places, 2 weeks before the start date of the course. Any applications received after the 2 week deadline will only be processed at the discretion of the Programmes Lead.
